Updated October 26, 2026
AppRaven shows you paid apps that dropped in price. GetFree shows you apps whose developers give away promo codes. Here is how they differ and who each one suits.
Browse free appsWhat AppRaven does
AppRaven is an iPhone and iPad app and website that lists paid apps that have gone free or dropped in price. Its App Store listing says it has wish lists, price history, collections and reviews, and over a million downloads. Those figures are AppRaven's own.
It also shows promoted deals. As of October 25, 2026 its home page had a promoted deal with a promo-code button for a reading app.
What GetFree does
GetFree starts from the developer side. A developer submits an app and a batch of promo codes. A user claims a code and redeems it in the store. The page for each app collects reviews and upvotes.
GetFree does not watch the whole App Store for price drops. If you want an alert when a specific app goes on sale, AppRaven is built for that.
Side by side
- Source of deals: AppRaven tracks store prices. GetFree lists apps whose developers share codes.
- Platforms: AppRaven is Apple-focused. GetFree lists iOS, Android, web and Mac apps.
- Developer access: on GetFree you submit your own app and codes. AppRaven runs promoted deals.
- Price alerts and price history: AppRaven has them. GetFree does not yet.
Which to use
Use AppRaven if you want to catch discounts on apps you already know. Use GetFree if you are a developer who wants early users and reviews, or a user who wants to try new indie apps for free.
Many people will use both.
